We are currently recruiting for a Test Technician in our Charlottesville, VA location. Candidate uses formal strong technical education and experience to provide technical support to the Test Engineering group in the development, fabrication, maintenance, support and calibration of simple and complex, manual and automated test systems, fixtures, cables and procedures utilized for manufacturing functional testing of complex state-of-the-art Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Systems, Subassemblies, Radar Panels, Printed Circuit Boards and Antenna Assemblies in a manufacturing environment. This position is specifically focused on providing support to Test Engineering team in support of manufacturing operations at the Charlottesville, VA facility. Major Areas of Accountability 1)  Proficient at applying technical education and professional experience to productively support Test Engineers in the development, fabrication and support of manual and automated test systems, fixtures, cables and procedures for manufacturing functional testing of GPR Systems, Subassemblies, Radar Panels, Printed Circuit Boards, and Antennas. 2)  Strong electrical/electronic technical knowledge and experience troubleshooting, repairing and testing products and interpreting assembly drawings/schematics.3)  Provide high level technical support of test software development, debugging and qualification, as well as perform complex electrical and mechanical fabrication, modification, maintenance, repair, calibration and long term support of manual and automated test systems, circuits, fixtures, cables, and procedures. 4)   Assist Test Engineers, in providing technical support of manufacturing test activities, including: Act as point-of-contact for manufacturing test team regarding questions about test procedures, test fixturing and/or test stations. Document, update and maintain Manufacturing Test Procedures Provide training for manufacturing technicians regarding test system/fixture operation and execution of test procedures. Perform product testing of new GPR Panels, Printed Circuit Boards, Antennas, etc, during prototype, preproduction and/or first article development stages, often working from marked up schematics and/or test procedures. 5)   Provide hardware specific support for Test Engineers and manufacturing test team, including : Troubleshoot, repair and maintain existing test stations and/or fixturing, to insure production readiness. Development, fabrication and implementation of next generation test stations/fixturing for manufacturing functional testing of products. Perform hardware qualification testing, preventative maintenance, and calibration of manual and automated test stations. Fabricate electrical/electronic circuits, sub-assemblies, test stations, test fixtures and test cables Perform test station hardware updates in support of testing new products or testing of existing products with new features. 6)   Assist Test Engineers with manufacturing test software specific activities including: Perform Test System software unit, module, regression and/or qualification testing SW programming, using LabVIEW, in support of test software debug, modification, maintenance and/or repair. Create test executive test sequences using Test Stand and LabVIEW. Develop test software routines, under minimal engineering review Document test software using Test Engineering software development processes and software coding standards. Use software version control system when working with any and all software activities. Perform test station software updates in support of new products or existing products with new features Perform test software debugging within the LabVIEW and Test Stand development environments.7)   Technical competence in utilizing schematics to troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems, to component level, for test systems, GPR Systems, GPR Subassemblies, Radar Panels, printed circuit boards, etc. 8)   Capably test, troubleshoot, determines root cause and implement solutions to complex electrical/electronic circuits or test systems with minimal engineering oversight.9)   Document and timely submits weekly status reports.10)  Develop basic schematics, mechanical drawings, and BOMS with minimal engineering oversight.11)      Proficient at using company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to view/print product BOMs, drawings and test procedures12)      Accurately follows company policies and procedures in the areas of test, safety, ESD prevention, ISO-9001, calibration, failed material handling and 5S initiative. Competencies: Excellent verbal/written communication skills on technical and non-technical topics.
